The base (the bottom side) of the four triangles should be 1/4 the diameter of your head plus approximately 1" to allow for overlap of the spine, rib, and brow bands without bumping against the other dome parts. One of the other sides should be roughly half the length of the helmet spine, and the last side should be half the length of the helmet rib (again adding about 1" for proper overlapping). Name each of your pieces so you know which one is which (i.e. LB for Left Back, RF for Right Front, etc). Now, on your template, create a "bulging triangle." The bulges should protrude approximately 1/2" from the triangle line to accommodate for the dome curves you'll be making to ensure the piece rests flush with the helmet frame bands.
