I rather appreciated the twisted perversity of Ichigo's 'apex form' turning out to be a red herring that was slapped down by Yhwach, if only for the sheer audacity of degrading your protagonist in such a way. However, it would have been lovely to see Ichigo receive his big climactic battle.
Unfortunately, fans will never know how strong Ichigo's new Bankai is. The hero never got to use it since Yhwach thought it was too dangerous and smashed it as soon as it was triggered. The almighty enemy appeared disturbed about the move, which speaks much about the Bankai's actual strength, and fans can only image the havoc Ichigo could do with it.
And, yeah, his numbers remain same in bankai. He receives a powerful weapon capable of one-shotting every revealed character in the scenario. On top of that, he possesses a hollow form (did you forget about this?) that can outperform SK Yhwach in stats. Shikai Ichigo is significantly less powerful than them. I don't see the conflict.

I can live with a huge and weighty Tensa Zangetsu, yet losing the elegant black katana is sacrilegious. However, if we choose a smaller blade, Ichigo's costume would have to alter as well: his Shihakusho usually morphed into a more form-fitting, Neo-meets-Grim-Reaper outfit to compliment the thinner katana. A hefty blade is more visually balanced for his new style, albeit I'd remove the chain.
ZANPAKUTO: Like every other Soul Reaper, Ichigo had a Zanpakuto after transforming into a Substitute Soul Reaper. His Zanpakuto's name was Zangetsu [literally "Slaying Moon"]. Ichigos Zanpakuto is a typical katana in its sealed form, yet it is exceptionally large. While practicing with Kisuke Urahara, Ichigo discovered how to release his Zanpakuto, releasing the very first form- Zangetsus Shikai.

The page announcing Ichigo's role in Jump Force, as seen above, depicts the character in full costume. In reality, the Soul Reaper is depicted wearing a uniform from an arc that the anime was unable to adapt. Ichigo is dressed in his 'Thousand-Year Blood War' outfit, and followers of the anime know what that entails. Yes, Ichigo receives a brand-new Bankai in the final arc, and it's possible the technique may make its way to Jump Force.

Anime viewers never learnt about Ichigo's last Bankai since the anime was never adapted from Tite Kubo's manga. Ichigo discovered that he is the unique son of a Soul Reaper and a Quincy, with a dash of Hollow on his mother's side. Zangetsu, whom Ichigo mistook for his Zapakuto, was really the manifestation of his Quincy abilities. Ichigo's blade was not entirely linked to his Soul Reaper side, and the hero's genuine Zanpakuto turned out to be the Hollowfied mirror, whom Ichigo mistook for a Hollow.
His Soul Reaper [Shinigami] counterpart wears a considerably more solemn and formal outfit. Ichigo dresses as a Soul Reaper [Shinigami] in a solid black Hakama with a dazzling white sash knotted around his waist and his really large Zanpakuto on his back supported by a thick red cord. While his Bankai is active, Ichigos's outfit changes somewhat, as he puts on a black overcoat with a tattered edge and blood-red internal lining, which resembles the spirit of Ichigos Zanpakuto: Zangetsu.
He joins the domain of the Shinigami (Soul Society) alongside his pals Chad and Orihime, as well as their classmate Ishida Uryu, with the assistance of a mystery guy called Urahara Kisuke and a talking cat named Yoruichi (who is a Quincy, which are a clan of powerful humans who can control reiatsu and are the sworn enemies of the Shinigami).
