Appearance Deerie is a relatively tall anthropomorphic deer with light honey brown fur with lemon yellow highlights, as well as light coral pinkish-red hair and ears that are pale pink on the inside with orchid purple tips. Cherubs (or Cherubim) are one of God's numerous attendants with varied tasks who are entrusted with a variety of essential duties in Abrahamic religion. Cherubs are depicted in the Book of Ezekiel as frightening yet awe-inspiring: they had four wings and four faces (human, bull on the left, lion on the right, and eagle) with hoof-like feet and an atmosphere of scorching fire while glittering like copper. Cherubs are often represented in Western culture as winged babies, contrary to their appearance in the Bible. This representation arose from Western Renaissance Art, which used Putti from Greek mythology in paintings depicting Angels, which Cletus resembles. Blitzo's remark about Cherubs being "Heaven's table scraps" may suggest that the Cherubs are among Heaven's lowest hierarchical ranks. While it may correspond to the angelic hierarchy of Jewish literature, it may also be ironic, considering that traditional (Biblical) Cherubs were formerly thought to be of fairly high rank and closer to God than other angels, second only to Seraph angels.
