Fedortsov began sharing photos of these creatures about 5 years ago in order to show the world what the ocean has to offer. Fedortsov now uses an iPhone 11 Pro Max to photograph wildlife. Fedortsov says, "I decided to create my Instagram and Twitter accounts because many people have no idea what the fish could look like." I was blown away by the appearance of some deep fish and wanted to share my experience with others.
Historically, sailors believed in a variety of terrifying creatures. Some of it sounds silly today, and we can chalk it up to superstition and nerves, but these sailors had to be seeing something. Did they make it all up? Perhaps you dipped a little too deeply into the rum cask?
The final battleground is space.
or so they claim. "They" have clearly not turned their attention to our own planet. Yes, space is terrifying in a profoundly existential sense. But nothing about space—not the possibility of alien attacks, not the certainty of solar implosion, not the eons of never-ending nothingness—is as terrifying as the ocean. That's right, the most terrifying thing in existence is a body of water that 39 percent of the American population lives within a mile of. For starters, we've barely scratched the surface of any of it. And the areas we have visited are teeming with murderous monsters, diabolical natural forces, and otherworldly-looking black holes. Yes, black holes aren't just found in space.

Anglerfish, frogfish, and any other fish with built-in fluorescent lighting are off the menu. Fish that use light to attract prey are common at the ocean's bottom, but they can frighten anyone who sees the sea as their mortal enemy. For example, the snaggletooth fish generates its own light to illuminate its path and attract microscopic food to its demise.
