Scary Movie is a film series that parodies horror film conventions a la Airplane! and The Naked Gun.
The Wayans Family's Keenen Ivory Wayans directed the original series, which was scripted in large part by his brothers Shawn (as Ray, seen top right) and Marlon Wayans (playing Shorty, pictured bottom left). The first film was mostly a parody of the original Scream (missing the point that Scream was itself a parody of horror movies), but it also strongly mocked I Know What You Did Last Summer and poked fun at a variety of other films, not only horror ones. Despite vows of no sequels, a second film was made under the title "We Lied," which mostly parodied the 1999 remakes of The Haunting and House on Haunted Hill.
Buffy, Cindy, and Brenda spent Halloween night out partying with their boyfriends. On the way home, Bobby, who was driving Greg's father's vehicle, inadvertently hit and killed a guy strolling by the side of the road. They swore to keep the deed hidden after covering it up. A year after the tragedy, she attends the Miss Sweet Teen contest at school in the middle of local school killings. According to Cindy and Greg's letters, the murderer may be someone who knows about the crime. During the pageant, she begins to perform a theatrical reading and observes Greg's murder on the balcony from a distance, but when she attempts to warn the audience, they mistake it for a dramatic reading. She is so overjoyed after winning the pageant that she disregards Greg's death and acts in defiance of it.

Many sequences and gags spoof or allude to films that are not in the horror category. Cindy's confrontation with the murderer is reminiscent of The Matrix, notably its usage of bullet time. The last scene, in which Doofy quits pretending to be disabled and drives away with Gail, is a parody of the closing scene from The Usual Suspects. When asked about her favorite horror film, Drew says "Kazaam" because of Shaquille O'Neal's performance. During sex with Bobby, Cindy gets angry and yells, "Say my name!" similar to the sex scene between Michelle and Jim in American Pie. In the movie theater scene, a teaser for a fake sequel to Amistad dubbed Amistad II emerges. Other pop culture allusions outside the bounds of the film include a quick send-up of Dawson's Creek and a spoof of Budweiser's Whassup? commercial campaign.
Wazzup? - Scary Movie Shorty and the assassin having a relaxed talk. Shorty (Marlon Wayans) and The Killer appear in this scene (Dave Sheridan) Scary Movie - Cindy, Surprise! Cindy and the assassin are ultimately pitted against one other in a Matrix-style duel. Cindy (Anna Faris), The Killer (Dave Sheridan), Ray (Shawn Wayans), Bobby (Jon Abrahams), and the Sheriff are all present in this incident (Kurt Fuller)
They have a different narrative than the Wayans-era entries, disregarding or moving on from the previous two films. As a result, he and Shorty Meeks are no longer a part of Cindy and Brenda's life or exist in the universes of those two films. Ray Wilkins and Shorty Meeks are thought to be half-brothers, owing to their similar features and Brenda's revelation that she and Shorty had separate dads. (In truth, Shawn and Marlon Wayans are brothers; Shawn is Marlon's elder brother.) Gallery
