The chandelier sequence was done utilizing stop motion to keep the actors below safe, according to chief cinematographer Charles Van Enger, A.S.C. According to at least one Internet report, it was done in reverse, with the chandelier being pulled upward and then produced backward in the lab. Van Enger's description may be found in Philip J.
