Despite being captivated by Studio WIT's spectacular graphics and that undoubtedly awesome initial opening theme music, I was never able to get into Attack on Titan. Having read the full manga, I must admit that Isayama has certain merits. For one thing, his drawings are brimming with tremendous energy, and his inks excel at expressing the absolute dread that envelops the characters over and again. For another, the suspense created before each major story surprise is superb. All of these features are amplified in Kodansha Comicsâ English-language version, with subtle translations by Ko Ransom and Sheldon Drzka and powerful lettering by the famous Steve Wands.
